Confluence University Journal of Science and Technology (CUJosTech) is the official Journal of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Nigeria. CUJosTech is a peer reviewed, open access journal that publishes original and high-quality review articles in science and technology, including; engineering, environmental sciences, computer sciences, biological sciences, physical and earth sciences, as well as related fields. The journal uses a double-blind review system for manuscripts received, and adhere strictly to plagiarism policies.

Article Types

Note: Word limits for each article type exclude references unless otherwise stated.

1. Original Research Articles

Manuscripts presenting novel and high-quality scientific investigations across the fields of science, technology, and innovation.

Word Limit: Preferably not more than 7,500 words, including tables and figures.

2. Major Review Articles

Comprehensive and critical evaluations of the literature on contemporary and emerging topics within the journal's scope. 

Review articles are expected to be authored by individuals with significant expertise or a substantial body of work in the subject area. Authors should provide a brief summary of their relevant experience or contributions in the field along with the manuscript.

The recommended word count for review articles is minimum of 6,000 words, excluding the references. Authors may cite 50 to 90 references, as appropriate. Each manuscript should include an abstract of no more than 250 words, providing a concise and accurate overview of the article's content. Section headings within the article may vary based on the topic being reviewed. To ensure transparency and rigor, review articles must include a dedicated section detailing the methodology used to identify, select, extract, and synthesize data. This methodology should also be briefly summarized in the abstract to inform readers of the scope and approach of the review.

Word Limit: Maximum of 10,000 words.


Editorial Policy on Manuscript Scope and Quality

The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to decline any manuscript without external review under the following conditions:

  • The topic falls outside the scope of the journal.
  • The work lacks scientific or technical merit.
  • The manuscript provides limited novelty or incremental advancement of previous findings.
  • The submission appears fragmented or poorly conceptualized.
  • The manuscript is not written in clear, scholarly English.

Peer Review and Revision

  • All submissions deemed suitable for review will be evaluated by at least two independent reviewers for scientific accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
  • Authors may be required to revise their manuscript based on reviewers’ feedback.
  • Upon acceptance, articles may be edited to conform to the CUJoSTech house style.
  • Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted promptly following receipt of reviewer comments.
  • Manuscripts returned after more than four months will be treated as new submissions and subject to full re-review.
